Softplay 13.02.09

Today Shona came over to visit us so we decided to try to go to the softplay at the Cedar cafe in vogrie Country Park about 10 minute drive from the house. (we tried over christmas but had no luck!) We parked the car and got Kaden into his buggy as it was a bit of a walk from the carpark. When we got there Shona was unable to push the buggy through the snow so she had to pull the buggy backwards, Kaden was looking at me and daddy wondering what was happening! When we got to the cafe we left Kaden’s buggy outside as it was a really nice day and were able to keep an eye on it from the soft play. We went into the cafe counter and ordered some lunch for us all and payed £2.00 for unlimited use of the softplay area. We were also able to take our food through. It was like having a softplay area in your livingroom as there were couches and small tables to use! We all had a good time and while we were in the soft play Kaden took his first couple of steps!

A chat with Granny and Grandad

We had a call from Granny and Grandad earlier tonight and I had the phone on loud speaker so that Kaden could hear them. When Kaden heard Granny’s voice he let out one of his new found giggles which is sooo cute and funny! Kaden then started to babble away like he was having a little conversation with Granny! When grandad came on the phone Kaden listened and started to babble again. I held the phone out to Kaden and he put it next to his ear like the phone call was for him, then Kaden decided to eat the phone!

Box Play

Our microwave stopped working properly so we got a new one yesterday. We took the microwave out the box and put Kaden in it with his steering wheel and a little car!

Child’s Play

Today I noticed Kaden playing with one of his little cars that he got for christmas. He had it in his hand winding the wheels round and round trying to examin what the car does! The next thing he done with it was roll the car on the floor, andas he was crawling from one end of the room to the other Kaden wheeled the car along the floor. It was fasinating to see Kaden figure out how the car works. I would love to find out what is going on in his mind!

Kaden’s dressing gown

Kaden got a cute little dressing gown for his Christmas this year, I gave him a bath earlier than normal tonight because he was rather messy after his tea and put his dressing gown on him. Kaden just looks sooo cute in his dressing gown and cuddled up with daddy on the couch!

Wriggle Wriggle!

Today Grandad looked after Kaden for me as i had an appointment to go to which Granny came with me. Grandad said he had fun playing with Kaden however his nappy wasn’t changed until we came home. I thought it was rather funny watching Grandad change Kaden’s nappy because he was wriggling and rolling all over the place and you could see Kaden laughing too! It took Grandad quite a while to change Kaden’s nappy and he never quite managed to get the vest popped or trousers back on!! I don’t think Grandad will be changing his nappy any time soon!

Nursery Day 3 or Not

Wednesday was supposed to be my last day of work for the week and Kaden’s last day at nursery however because Kaden ended up at the sick kids and was really unwell i phoned my work to explain that Kaden wasn’t well enough to come in so we both spent the day at home. Kaden was very unsettled but all i could really do for him was give him cuddles when he wanted them and some calpol and neurofen when he was due them. Kaden had a good 2 hours sleep in the morning and about 3 half hour sleeps in the afternoon. Granny and Grandad popped in for a little while to see how Kaden was too.

Thursday:-

We had a morning in our pyjamas and lazing on the sofa until about 9.30am then Kaden went for a 2hour sleep and i went back to bed. Kaden had ate better and has taken more water and had a good 3 hour sleep in the afternoon. Kaden also played this more with his toys but still needed lots of cuddles. I think the antibiotics hve really started to take effect!

A trip to the Sick Kids

When i got home from work I got cuddles from Kaden, That night I decided not to give him a bath and put him straight into his pyjamas as he was really cranky. We were waiting for daddy to bring Kaden his supper and bottle and Kaden had fallen asleep in my arms (which he never does). After about half an hour Kaden woke up and took some of his bottle. When it came to bed time I just couldn’t get Kaden to settle in his cot so lay beside him on my bed and he fell asleep. Around 9pm Kaden woke up burning so after trying to get his temp down we took him to the sick Kids as it just wasn’t shifting and Kaden wouldn’t drink.

We got to the sick Kids and gave the receptionist our details and what was wrong with Kaden then went down to the triage bit,where after about 20 mins a nurse came and spoke to us, took Kaden’s temp which was high and measured his heart rate using a moniter that attatched to his big toe. After that a doctor came to speak to us and took us to a consultation room where he asked us what was wrong then looked in Kaden’s throat and ears and felt his tummy. The doctor said that Kaden’s throat was a little red and his ear was red on the inside causing concern. He gave us anti-biotics and weighed Kaden to see what weight he was. Kaden now weighs 20lb 7oz! The doctor was really good with Kaden making him smile while he was trying to look at him.

When we got home it was about midnight, we managed to get Kaden settled but he was in our bed that night. At 2.30am Kaden woke up screaming so i stripped him down to his nappy and sponged him down. At that point i couldn’t give him calpol because he had some only 2 hours before. I managed to get Kaden settled but he slept in his nappy with a light cover over him to keep his temp down but still had a really restless sleep.

First Day

Well after 10 months off work it was finally time to go back. Not only that but it was Kaden’s first day at nursery! It was an early start this morning, i had my alarm set for 6am. I got up had a shower and packed the stuff into tne bag that i was unable to get ready last night. Then at 6.30am i had to wake Kaden. I got Kaden up gave him his breakfast and gave him his bath and got him ready to leave. By 7.10am we were bth in the car and on the road to nursery!

We arrived at nursery an at 7.40am giving me enough time to get unloaded and find out where i was and catch up on a little gossip. I left Kaden in the baby room, gave hime a kiss and said goodbye then went on to start work around 8am.

Kaden settled into the nursery routine well he ate all his snacks and had two portions of lunch which was chicken curry and noodles! He went to sleep in his buggy without a fuss and played happily all day. There were times where i had to go into the baby room to gofor lunch or help out in the babies but again Kaden was fine, no tears when i had to leave or pick up another baby!

Around 4pm Kaden started to get a little grumpy but i think it was just the heavy feeling of the cold so i gave Kaden a little calpol and he was soon back to normal playing away.

I sent Kaden’s tea in with him and the girls fed him that! Kaden ate most of it and finished his youghurt too. At home time i got Kaden into the car and he had a little sleep on the way home until we got to tesco co i had to pick up a few bits and bobs.

We got home to daddy and told him all about Kaden’s day and then phoned granny too. It didn’t take long for Kaden to drift off to sleep tonight, he was nackered after his first day at nursery!

A Little Story

Kaden found his bag of books that we got from the library the other day and was trying to get them out the bag. Adam was standing beside Kaden and asked what he had forund. We told Adam that it was Kadens books that we read to him and Adam started to have a look too. There was a book called ‘Where to, Little Wombat?’ that caught Adam’s eye so he sat down and read the story. We told Adam that Kaden would like to listen, so Kaden sat on Adam’s Knee and listened to the three pages that Adam read to him!
