Music Madness

When Kaden and daddy came to pick me up from hospital tonight Kaden started to get a little fed up waiting for the nurse to give me my discharge note so I let Kaden listen to my i shuffle. He was so cute with the headphones in doing head banging along to the music, kept us all entertained for a while :)

This next photo was taken the 1st time Kaden listened to my i shuffle in August 2008

Scissors

Everytime I have the scissors out Kaden always watches what Im doing so when we were out at the shops a few weeks ago we got some children’s safety for Kaden and tonight we got the scissors, glue and coloured paper and let Kaden create a gluing. Kaden liked using the scissors and coped well with the use snipping round the edges. When he finished Kaden gave his gling to daddy! :)

EastLinks family Park

As it was Kaden’s birthday Daddy and I took Kaden to Eastlinks family park in Eastlothian. It has animals that you can feed and lots of different activity things you can do from softplay to trampolines, go karts and ballblasts and even a train that you can go on right round the park. Kaden had a ball feeding the animals, chasing the chickens and playing in the softplay, on the trampoline, and the tractors. We also took a little picnic which we had in the softplay barn! The only thing was it was quite cold even althoug we had gloves and hats/hoods but we did stay for a while. definitly think we will go back when its warmer to see the new fort opening up soon.

Birthday Boy

Mummy and daddy would like to say a big Happy 2nd Birthday to Kaden and hope he had a good time over the last two days!

Yesterday morning we took Kaden down stairs and had some breakfast, after breakfast daddy took Kaden for a shower while I got the cake ready. When Kaden came downstairs he came into the livingroom while daddy and I sang Happy Birthday. Kaden’s face lit up when he seen the banner and balloons on the wall and the presents and cake. Kaden had lots of fun opening his presents and loved his Iggle Piggle teddy which I had sining in my ear this morning! :)

Gluing

In the past when I have tried to do gluing with Kaden he has always tried to put everthing in his mouth so its been a while since I done gluing with him! The other day I thought for a change we could try gluing again! This time Kaden kept everything out his mouth. I cut some shapes out of coloured paper and used sweet wrappers we had saved up. Kaden spent ages gluing and we even done a rocket picture.

Making Playdough

The other week we got Kaden’s playdough out to play with that he got for Christmas but we had to put it in the bucket as it was going all hard. Today I made some pink playdough with Kaden using flour water and red food colouring. Kaden poured the flour into the bowl then I added some red water and got Kaden to mix it. After we mixed it Kaden had playdough to play with. I got out the rolling pin and some cutters and Kaden sat for over 3o minutes at the Kitchen table playing.

A Busy afternoon

I had a look on the internet and found a website that has loads of Ideas for messy play which is really good! www.nurseryactivityideas.co.uk One of the Ideas on it was to put paint into an ice cube tray and put it in the freezer and leave it to freeze. You then take them out the freezer and can paint with the Ice cubes. I seen this and thought Kaden might like to do it so I went and got Kaden’s paints to fill up the halloween moulds then I put them in the freezer. Hopefully we will use them at the weekend. As Kaden seen the paints he wanted the paint out so we done big messy painting!!

Later in the afternoon we all went swimming. Kaden had a great time. He was going down the slides which are really big, One of us would take him to the top and the other would catch him at the bottom. We must have been up and down the slide a dozen or more times, think we are more tired than what Kaden was! :)

Wrong place!

Kaden has started to try and dress himself now in the morning, he manages to put his tops over his head but needs help with the arms, he can pull up his pants and sometimes his trousers and tries hard to put his socks on but normally gives up. This morning Kaden put his pants on byhimself with a little difference, they went on his head!

Potty Progress!

Over the last few weeks we have been potty training Kaden. He has been doing really well. We have progressed from the potty to using the big toilet and asking to go when he needs. I have managed to take Kaden out and about to the shops, library and friends houses with very few mishaps!  Kaden has done really well and Mummy and Daddy would like to say that we are so pleased with your progress! XXX :) Keep up the good work.
