A Day with Granny

Granny was on holiday this week from work and we still had a day off so we asked Granny if she would like to come to the Zoo with us. We packed a picnic and picked Granny up at 10.00am and headed to the zoo. We got there for 10.30am and headed in. We were going to get the bus up to the hill top but it was a bit busy so we walked instead. We did take the buggy incase Kaden got tired but he walked most of the way with us. I think it was just because he couldn’tsee much in he buggy. We had a look at the sealion’s and flamingos and headed up towards the budongo trail looking at the animals on the way up. We then went to see the pygmy hippo and baby n our way to the penguins. after the penguins we went for lunch but stopped to see the rhino’s first. Kaden ate loads for lunch but after the amount of walking he done he must have needed it! Once we had lunch we went to see the lorikeets and fed them some nectar. Granny bought Kaden a litlle lorikeet teddy which was stuck to his hand the rest of the trip. We then went t see the polar bear and headed up towards the lions andtigers but at this point Kaden had fallen asleep. We then went back down to the cafe for a drink. At this point Kaden had woken up. It was raining from lunch time onwards but we stayed at the zoo for a while. Our last stop before the shp was the monkey house which was quite entertaining for us to watch. Kaden had a little monkey follow him and his little lorikeet teddy. Granny was very good to Kaden he also got a few things from Granny which was very good of her. I think a good day was had by every one even although it rained.

  

Soft Play

On Monday I wasn’t sure what to do as daddy was back at work and the weather was unpredictable. I thought of taking Kaden to the soft play but had a better Idea. I used my imagination and Improvised with things in the house and turned the living room into a mini soft play for Kaden. I filled his paddling pool up with balls and brought out his pop up tunnel. I also moved the couch forward and made a tent behind the couch using the kitchen chairs and a big cover. I moved the hamster out the way and used some pillows and bed covers for a mini obsticle course! Kaden seemed to have fun running round the living room that I think I will do it again one weekend so daddy can play too!

Mummy’s Helper

Over the last couple of days Kaden has been inerested in helping me to bake. We have made a chocolate cake, Pizza for lunch and soe soup. With the soup I had Kaden stand next to me on a chair. I cut and peeled the vegetables and got aden to put them in the pot. Kaden also helped to put the stock cube in and quite liked to taste everything first. Once everything was in the pot I took Kaden off his chair and then added the water and left the soup to cook. With the baking Kaden liked to help weigh the ingredients and taste them too! With the cake and pizza I had to judge how much liquid to add as Kaden had ate quite a bit of the ingredients but they turned out really well!

A Trip to Mussleburgh

It was a bright day yesterday and although a bit cloudy it was still warm, so we decided to pack a picnic and take the old bread to Mussleburgh to feed the ducks, we ended up feeding the swans as they were at the part of the river where we parked and then we went to the beach where Kaden paddled in the puddles and tried to eat the sand. We had our picnic on the beach and then threw some stones into the water.In one of the photo’s it looks like Kaden is eating a stick but he’s not, he is playing a doo doot!!

An indoor Activity

It was a bit of a miserable day on Wednesday so we just stayed in the house. I got out the roll of wall paper that was leftover and Kaden’s paints and gluing  things and let Kaden get messy! (even Daddy joined in!) We all had lots of fun painting and gluing and making mess. Kaden i think quite liked the taste of the foam shapes and little fluffy pompoms!

The Zoo

On Tuesday we  went to the Zoo, the weather wasn’t great but it stayed dry! We took the shuttle bus to the very top of the Zoo and decided to walk down and let Kaden see all the animals at the top and the lions and tigers as he is now making the animal noises! After we seen the lions we went to see mercades the polar bear and the the monkies. After this we went home as Kaden was starting to get tired and grumpy!

On Holiday

Today was a really nice day so I bought Kaden some play sand and set uphis little sand table out the back along with his tunnel. In the sand we had Kaden’s aeroplane and a little palm tree. I got Kaden to look up at the blue sky, with the combination of the sand and the blue sky Kaden and I were pretending to be on holiday in the Carribian! Also on our little trip was the cat, I think he likes to be involved!

A Little Holiday at Granny and Grandad’s

I only have a couple of weeks left until I have to go back to work so thought it would be a nice Idea to stay with Granny and Grandad for a little break.We packed the car full of toys, clothes and baby things for Kaden on Monday morning and headed off to Granny and Grandad’s to catch Grandad before he started his afternoon shift. Kaden spent some time playing with Grandad before he had to get ready for work and to let Daddy and I unload the car. Kaden went for a little sleep in the afternoon so Granny said that she would keep an eye on Kaden so that we could go for a look around the shops.

After the shops and tea it was time for Kaden to get ready for his bed. Kaden was a rather restless and unwell. (see previous post)

After given Kaden his antibiotics, calpol, neurofen and taking him for some walks in the buggy to help him sleep for a day or so we could see a huge difference in him.(Zack came for walks too.) Even although Kaden is still a little unwell he is quite happy to play and is sleeping a lot better. (Just not eating as well). Granny and Grandad have a dog called Zack who Kaden can be a little unsure of at times especially when he barks but since being at Granny and Grandad’s Kaden has got more used to him and has tried to chase him around the living room!

Today before we left Granny and Grandad’s Kaden was in the computer room sitting on Grandad’s knee listening to Grandad’s music Status Quo. Kaden was fascinated by what was on the computer screen and soon started dancing along to the music.

Even although Kaden has been unwell it was nice to get away for a few days, I think Zack will be glad we are away so he can get some peace from Kaden and a rest from all the extra walks he has been getting too!

First Big Thing!

The first big thing that we done with Kaden was take him away for a long weekend to Turriff with Granny,Grandad Mummy,Daddy and His big Bother. While we were away we went swimming to the local swimming pool among other things! Kaden done really well he only cried when i got him changed into his swim gear and for the first couple of minutes in the pool! Once Kaden was in he lasted 30 minutes.

Kaden was so exhausted after swimming that i never got a chance to put him in the carseat before he fell asleep!
