It was another sunny day so Kaden and i spent some more time in the garden this time i managed to get a couple of photo’s!!!

I built the gazebo again and had Kaden in his bouncer with some toys and books to look at and play with i also got the bubble machiene out and Kaden watched the bubbles for ages.We were also on the trampoline again and were joined by our next door neighbour.

After breakfast Kaden was lying on the couch quit happily playing! The next thing i Know Kaden has taken a tumple and is lying on the floor a bit upset! I quickly got to Kaden and checked him over no bumps or bruises. Ithink he got more of a fright! Once Kaden saw himself in the mirror he started to giggle!

I thought it was about time i took Kaden to the health visitor today since its been a while! (5 weeks) There was two reasons for going 1 was to get him weighed and measured, and 2 was to ask about the bookstart pack which we should have got between 8 and 14 weeks! (like i said its a while since our last visit!)

Kaden now weighs 16lb 7oz and is 68 cm’s long. I think he is going to be tall like his mummy!

In the bookstart pack we got 2 books,a cd, a poster, a rhyme mat. We also got a free toothbrush and toothpaste and a feeder cup for when Kaden is older!

Well worth a visit to the health visitor i think!!!!

It was such a lovely day outside that i thought that Kaden and i could spend some time playing outside for a change and make use of our big back garden. We were given a gazebo from Kaden’s Granny and Grumpy grandad so took the opportunity and put it to good use! It took quite a while to build the gazebo as i was on my own with Kaden and well lets just say he’s not quite at the helping stage!!! Once i got the gazebo up it was great, a shaded area from the sun safe enough for Kaden to play in the garden!(slightly better than the home made gazebo!!!) Under the gazebo i had Kadens toys and some books for us to read. It got quite hot so i got the paddling pool out and put Kaden into his swimsuit and we played in the water for a while! Kaden had a great time in the paddling pool that im quite gutted i never manage to get a photo! My phone screen cracked (again) and i couldn’t find the batteries for my camera! However watch this space because next time we are out in the garden in the paddling pool there will be photo’s! After the paddling pool,lunch and a snooze we played on our trampoline! Kaden had such a buzy day that he went to bed at 6.30 pm!

This is our home made gazebo the last time we had a great day,It was made from the kithen chairs,rope and lots of blankets!!!

I was talking to my Dad on the phone the other night and was telling him about Kaden lying on his tummy and lifting his head up off the ground. My dad said that he would like a photo of Kaden like that to go with the photo’s of me, my brother and Ollie in the same pose when we were all at that stage,So when Kaden had his tummy Time today i lay infront of him and managed to get the photo for my Dad!!

Some people may say that Kaden is too young to understand books which they are proberly right but he is never too young to look at the pictures and listen to my voice as i read the words on the pages to him!I decided a few weeks ago that it was a good idea for us to join the library so i took Kaden a long to the library in our area and signed him and myself up to join! There were loads of forms to fill out but it will be worth it! Kaden now has his own Library card so we can take up to 10 books out at a time!!!! Kaden is also part of the bookstart book crawl where he gets a sticker every time we return the read books!(so far Kaden has 2 stickers!)

Kaden got his 3rd set of jags yesterday which i thought he was really brave!When the nurse put the first jag in his left leg Kaden looked at her  then started to cry a few seconds later! Luckily Kaden was easily distracted with the toys, that he soon stopped! Kaden was a lot quicker to cry with the other 2, but again Kaden stopped with the distraction of the toys! Since then Kaden has been not too bad just a bit of a temp but nothing Calpol and a hug won’t fix!

When i went off on maternity leave i thought that i would be fed up so i thought of a little project to keep me busy!

I wanted to decorate Kaden’s bedroom but because i like to be different i didn’t want your usual wallpaper or winnie the Pooh. So i went onto the internet and looked up colouring in sheets and thought of all the cartoon programmes that i used to watch as a child and came up with The smurfs! I then printed off a few pictures and then drew them onto the walls in the bedroom! After that we bought a few tester pots of paint and with the leftover white paint had all i needed to paint the walls!

 The picture on the building block was for Kaden’s uncle’s benefit!

The room didn’t take as long as i thought it only took a long weekend, however i was far from wrong about maternity leave it is going by so quickly and there is no time to be fed up!!!!

I think that Kaden is going to be a boy’s boy and what i mean by that is that he is going to like rough and tumble only a few weeks old and already he has been on a bouncy castle!!!

As i work in a children’s nursery i love to do messy activities with the children! Now that Kaden had got a littel bigger i thought that it would be a good idea to let him play in the gluck!! (Its a cornflower and water mix!) Kaden was abit unsure at first but really got into it as you will be able to see for yourself!

July 2008

Continuing on the messy theme Kaden and i painted one Sunday morning! I cellotaped about six pieces of A4 paper together and squirted some paint onto the paper, then i stripped Kaden down to his nappy and sat him on the paper (holding onto him!) Kaden moved the paint around with his feet and created his first master piece!

In the top left corner is Kadens foot print!

Since Kaden was born he has always had the urge to pull his head up so at around 2 months his head and neck were strong and very rarely flopping! Now at 17 weeks Kaden had started to pull his head up from his lying positin on the floor!

It was great when he started to discover his hands as it didn’t take him long to figure out how to hold and grab onto things! Kaden had a playgym bear that he loves to lie under! He now grabs the hanging toys and explores them with his mouth and eyes!

At around 3 and a half months Kaden used his hands to discover that he had feet now he tries to get them into his mouth!

Now his next big thing i think is going to be trying to get onto his side! So far he is half way there. Kaden just needs to descover how to move the leg over too!!!

Eating and Sleeping

Since early on I found it difficult to keep Kaden’s appitite at bay he always seemed hungry, no matter what i tried it just didn’t work. from around 3 months i tried Kaden with baby rice and cereals which seemed to work wonders! Kaden settled down and started sleeping better during the night and in the day time! I must admit i think i have been quite lucky with Kaden’s sleeping pattern as he seemed to have cat naps during the day and settled easily during the night back to sleep after his feeds! When i moved Kaden onto pureed food i noticed an even bigger change in his sleep pattern to the stage where he has his last bottle at around 7pm then straight to bed and wakes any time after 6am for his morning bottle!Kaden will only wake if his nappy hasn’t been changed before i go to bed!
